1. Create customer personas (an ideal customer)

Before anything else, you need to understand your target market. You should have a customer persona database segmented according to their demographics, job levels, goals, and specific pain points. Once you know who you are talking to, this will enable you to start segmenting your emails.

2. Product positioning for specific target segments
